Where things stand

We know it's hives. Now let's find out why.

Your first check-in pointed clearly at hives on top of a longer-running sensitive-skin rash. This round digs for the root cause and builds your plan.

  • About five flare episodes in six months, each lasting a week or two, on a background rash that has hung around for months
  • Welts that come and go, itch, burning, and dry tight skin, currently worsening and widespread
  • Antihistamines have helped; Novasone calms it, but it tends to come back after stopping
  • Eczema, asthma, hay fever, and previous hives in your history, and flares linked to heat, sweat, shaving, and friction

Not a diagnosis. This organises the evidence so a GP or dermatologist can act on it faster.

When to stop and get help

Call 000 immediately for any trouble breathing, wheezing, throat tightness, or swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat. With a history of hives, this matters.

Go to urgent care or an emergency department, or get a same-day GP appointment, for:

  • Swelling around the eyes or face with a flare
  • Fever or feeling generally unwell with the rash
  • Welts that are severely painful, blistering, or bruising
  • A flare spreading rapidly over hours

What's driving it

Your pattern looks like two things happening at once. Each lane below has its own cause and its own fix, which is why single treatments haven't stuck.

These are evidence-weighted hypotheses from your answers, not a diagnosis. The roadmap turns them into concrete steps and the right questions for your GP.

The road back to calm skin

Built from your answers. Work it in order; each stage sets up the next.

Never stop or change a prescribed medicine, including Novasone, without talking to the GP or a pharmacist first. The dossier includes everything a doctor needs from both check-ins plus your diary.

Past re-checks

The baseline is the first check-in on 29 July 2026. If two re-checks in a row are worse, that's a GP conversation, not more waiting.
